An Interview with ACS Volunteer Sharon Mullan

Welcome to another “face of ACS”, an interview series starring ACS Volunteers and their journey in serving the non-profit community.

Sharon is an international business leader, with a long history of transformation & operational management in global corporates. She now runs a management consulting & training business, specialising in helping businesses translate their strategy and vision into actionable plans. She is now dedicating her many years of experience to the NGO sector.

What 3 words would your friends use to describe you?

Energetic, Driven, Empathetic

What has your ACS volunteering journey been like? What particular instances which have stood out for you (and why)?

My volunteering journey with ACS is pretty recent, however in the short time I have been involved I am in awe of the talent & commitment of the ACS team – both staff and volunteers. I have been a facilitator for 2 flagship events so far – both the Operational and Strategic Resilience Seminars, and have had the opportunity to meet some amazing NGO leaders with such passion and dedication to their causes. I was also fortunate enough to be selected to join the Pivot programme training, which not only gave me deeper insight into NGO operations & challenges, but also a greater understanding of how I can contribute going forward

What advice do you have for a new ACS volunteer?

Just do it! You’ll meet some amazing people, and with the breadth of difference social causes serviced, you will always find something that ignites your passion!

Thank you Sharon!
