Get to Know Charities: AFS Intercultural Exchanges

AFS Intercultural Exchanges is a global NGO with over 60 country offices worldwide focused on providing intercultural exchange programs for high school students. Since its establishment in 1914, AFS has been promoting intercultural learning opportunities to help over 500,000 alumni develop the knowledge and understanding required to create a more equal and peaceful world. Travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic have significantly affected the organization’s core activities.

The Hong Kong chapter was set up in 1982 and in the last school year over 60 high school students went from Hong Kong onto an exchange program in different world countries. Their available financial scholarships require the organization to identify students whose spirit is aligned with the organization’s goals.
